Les TOURELLES de LONGUEVILLE is one of the two “second wines” (the other being Les Griffons de Pichon) of Ch. Pichon Lonqueville – Baron de Longueville). Of the two, les Tourelles is the original and leans toward the Merlot side of the equation where les Griffons leans more Cabernet Sauvignon.

This second wine of Ch. Pichon Lonqueville – Baron de Longueville is a blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petite Verdot aged 12 months in all French oak barrels – 30% new. Red-purple color with well-formed legs; dry, medium-plus-bodied with freshly-balanced acidity and medium phenolics with a really quite long finish. Supple, fresh, ripe and textured with lots of richness. Offers ripe red fruit. Hints at tobacco and pencil shavings but leans more to supple earth and oak. Very nicely integrated. YUM. Layered-Textured-Dimensional. BearScore: 93+.
