JEAN BAPTISTE ADAM of Ammerschwihr (in Alsace in far northeastern France) stands as a landmark in the long history of Alsace winemaking. While the Adam family has been working in the vineyards and in the cellar since 1614 (spanning 15 generations), they are not stuck in the past. Each generation brings fresh ideas and techniques in both the vineyards and the winery as well as new thoughts on presenting and selling the wines. Conversion of the family’s vineyards to organic and biodynamic practices began in 2004.
Laure Adam represents the 15th generation of the family to work in the business. After studies in viticulture and oenology, a Master MBA in Wine, Commerce and Management in hand, she worked in variety of wine industry positions in Italy or in London. In 2012, she joined the family business. On the technical side, she brought finesse and elegance to the house style. In addition she now serves as the ambassador for Jean-Baptiste Adam wines.
