What I’m Drinking: ALEXANDER VALLEY VINEYARDS Organic Caberent Sauvignon 2015
This organically-grown Cabernet Sauvignon is the pet project of Alexander Valley Vineyards (AVV) owner Hank Wetzel – and it is a winner. The regular AVV Cab has a red “spider” (the AVV logo) on the label but the Organic Cabernet has a green spider. Go organic. You’ll be glad you did.
ALEXANDER VALLEY VINEYARDS Organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley, 2015
100% organically grown estate Cabernet Sauvignon (clones 4 and 6) fermented in closed temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with pump-overs and aged 28 months in a mix of French & American oak barrels (25% new). Purple-red color with well formed legs; dry, medium full-bodied with freshly balanced acidity and medium phenolics. Ripe delicious darker red and black fruit with warm spice, tobacco leaf, subtle oak, and darker earth. Rich feel and nicely chewy texture. Delicious and every bit as expected. BearScore: 92+.
